To reiterate the goals of selecting plant material that will hold its appearance in an urban environment is imperative in Retail Landscape Design. Not only must the overall landscape presentation provide excitement and enticement it must continue to function in this way to continue to provide business to tennants. Enhancing the Shopping experience through aesthetics, accentuating architecture, and clarifying circulation is the project goal for this service.
Future Link to Green Roof Projects
Office and Warehouse Developments should have a landscape that is both hardy and pleasing to both the worker and the business visitor. For smaller developments NDG focuses on enhancing the architecture of the building and focuses on specific details to the scale of the project. Larger projects a campus focus is usually implemented with an eye to providing variety throughout the devlepment while maintianing the overall unity the entire development.
In design, it is important to have empathy for the user of the project. NDG strives to place themselve in the mind of the Park or Plaza Visitor whether its becoming a 5 year old in a play environment, naturalist on a nature trail, or in the Case of the Hurricane Monument a person impacted the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. With regards to the later, we do not presume to fully understand the experience, but do understand the importance of certain elements of the Hurricane Memorial. See Hurricane Monument Page.
Neitzel Design Group's Scope in the Washington Avenue Project to the left included Hardscape, Landscape, and Irrigation Improvements to to the Washington Avenue Shopping/Entertainment District. Hardscape Included the Layout of Planters, Planter Details, and Joint Layout and Detail of the Miami Beach Colored Sidewalks. Landscape Included the Coconut Planters and Median Entrance and Exit Features to the District. Flamingo Lummis which included Coconut Palm Planters to Side Streets to the East of Washington Avenue was added to the scope of work. See Washington Avenue Pictures.
I like to group the streetscape into two groups. The pedestrian scale streetscape like Washington Avenue and the Vehicular Scale Streetscape like I-95 Hallandale Beach Interchanges. Not only does the plant material have to hold up to the abuse provided by both pedestrian and vehicular traffic, it must be designed to a scale that can be comprehended by the user.
Neitzel Design Group pays particular attention to the fact that details of a landscape plan cannot be comprehended in the same way for a vehicle traveling at 70mph as for a pedestrian. Our firm has experience in many different types of streetscapes and has succesfully created street environments that are appreciated in high speeds, pedestrian speeds, or in some cases a combination of both.
The I-95/Hallandale Beach Interchanges included to the Eastern Sides of the Pembroke Road and Hallandale Beach Boulevard Interchanges. The Project Scope included a serpentine retaining wall, Landscape Plan, and Irrigation Plan. Also, included in the scope was securing the FDOT permit for the City of Hallandale Beach. Landscape Included Contrasting colors and Textures at a scale to be comprehended by at the speed of the Automobile. Irrigation included solar and battery operated controllers eliminating electrical crossings of the existing roadways. See Hallandale I-95 Interchanges Pictures.
